92 LeSabre Stalling - MAF Code

The last few days my LeSabre has stalled at low idle with the car stopped. When the car is moving there is no problem. It also only happens when the car is warmed up. The idle is kept high enough when it is cold to keep the car running with no problems. It won't stall if I keep my foot on the accelerator and manually keep the RPM's around 1000. The Service Engine light does come on occasionally. I am getting a 34 code which according to the code info indicates the MAF has not sent a signal for four seconds. The car otherwise runs fine. Can anyone tell me if these are the symtoms of a failing MAF? Where is the MAF and is it hard to change? Could this be a fuel problem?

Check the harness to maf, if ok, disconnect it and see how it runs, if no stalling then replace it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it. Can you tell me exactly where the MAF is and what it looks like. Is there a picture or diagram somewhere that I can look at.

Check this link for maf info. http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/17/8e/d2/0900823d80178ed2.jsp

Thanks for the info. I first tried gently tapping the MAF but nothing happened. I then unplugged the MAF and all the systems disapeared. New symtoms appeared such as a rough idle when in park and a constant SES light but the stalling is gone. I'm going to replace the MAF. Would you suggest a new one or one from a wrecker. I looked at the autozone sight for a price and it is fairly expensive.

Do not buy a Cardone reman they are unreliable, try a used one if cheap enough.
