I have a 2000 Blazer ZR2 and just got a new remote. It's the right remote, good battery and all that jazz, but I can't program it. I follow these steps (listed below), and it doesn't seem to work. I do steps 1-6 and the doors lock and unlock (like they're supposed to), but then it doesn't let me program the new remote and it doesn't deactivate the old remote. Is there anything that's missing in these steps or what? I just don't get it...:banghead:
Transmitter Programming:
1)With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel.
2)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position
3)Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
4)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position
5)Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
6)Release the power unlock button on the door panel.
The remote control door lock reciever will respond in the following manner in order to indicate that the receiver is in the programming mode:
6.1)Locking the doors
6.2)Unlocking the doors
IMPORTANT:
All extra transmitters must be programmed at this time. When a new transmitter is programmed it will deactivate the old transmitters.
7)Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the remote control door lock reciever will respond in the following manner:
7.1)Locking the doors
7.2)Unlocking the doors
8)Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter
9) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

You didn't list the remote information, so there's a chance it may be the wrong remote.
You should have FCC: KOBUT1BT - Part # 15732805
The instructions are correct, make sure all doors are closed including the rear tailgate, and hold down the buttons on the remote when prompted for about 30 seconds. The locks will cycle when the remote is stored.

Thats the clue - 30 sec which seems like forever sitting there and the first time I did it did not wait the required time.

Thanks! I'll try that when I get home. Nothing I saw said to hold it for 30 seconds. I only held it for about 10-15 seconds. I know it's the right remote. The numbers all match between the old and new, so it's gotta be the 30 seconds thing! Thanks again!
