weird problem

well itoday i noticed that my gauge cluster went bezerks. as i was driving to work miles on cluster where fine. once i got home and parked vehicle in garage i noticed that the car had an additional 1500 miles on it. drove to the mechanic since he had just worked on my vehicle, told him what was going on and informed me that my cluster is bad. he suggested i replace it. how does the whole bezel come off. i know theres 2 phillips screws on top and 2 plastic pins (think thats what they are called. upon the shiled being off theres a couple more screws. but i cant seem to get the whole thing off is there something that i am missing?
