:iceslolan I have a 92' C1500 W/4.3L, 5 Speed Manual trans. when I go over 35 mph the brake "idiot" light comes on the dash and stays on until I turn the ignition off . The other thing I notice is that my cruise control will not work above 35mph.
I don't have any problems w/my brakes locking up or anything when the brake light comes on the dash just the cruise control stops working .
I have replaced the speed control sensor (twice) on the trans and both front & rear brakes along w/front rotors, calipers and rear wheel cylinders and no change........
Is this an ABS problem or is there something I am overlooking ? :sunglasse

check the switch connected to the brake pedal....if it's that switch, it should not be related to the speed at which you drive and if that switch is stuck, it would be on after you turn off the ignition..maybe an option. Break lights work even without a key in the ignition. If not that, sounds like you need to check the steering column. The cam or cruise switch may need replacing.

The "Brake Light" that is coming on @ 35mph is the idiot light on the dash, it's the same light that tells you when the parking brake is on .
By the way I did check the brake light switch and the parking brake switch and they are both working fine .

That "idiot light" is also telling you that the RWAL brake controller has a code stored. You need to ground Pin H on the ALDL connector (this is done by connecting Pin H to Pin A since Pin A is ground). See http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/ for where Pin H and A are located. This website does not list the brake codes so your best bet is to post what code (or codes) you have stored and someone can help you. The codes are defined in the factory service manual and you may be able to find them on this website or the internet.
