Excellent looking results, but I wouldnt call this kit excellent. I found many things to upgrade on mine. Your paint is very smooth. What kind of paint was used?

Wow.... I love it. One of my all time favorite cars and you did a great job on it. The paint looks awesome.

Absolutely stunning work! I love what you have done. Please, an encore of your Cobra in the sunlite.

Great job. This is a classic and you did it justice with this build. The paint and the stripes came out great. Love that blue, bravo.

I agree, the color looks right, and I found it sitting on my shelf. I figure it can't be the correct color because it's MCW # 6003 a color match for a CHEVROLET Covette Grand Sport. Now I want to do a matching 427 Cobra.

Hi Bill,

the SMS Daytona is also a curbside model like the Gunze, but very expensive (I heard about 150 bucks). I have seen some photos of the unbuilt kit from the Nürnberg Toy Fair. Looking at these parts means to me, that the Gunze is as good as the SMS and it is much cheaper. Another opportunity is spending another 60-70 bucks to get the detailed MFH Daytona.

The last Gunze Daytona I saw on e-bay went for $175.00...$25.00 more than the SMS kit. I stopped bidding at $150.00 as that was my pre-set limit. Now SMS comes along and allows me to add a car that I've been sorely lacking to my collection. I'm more than happy to shell out the bucks for a SMS engineered kit. I've so far been able to NOT add a MFH kit to my collection..;-)>

Hi Bill,

that price for a Gunze is definitly too high. About 2 years ago in the German ebay these kit were sold for about 60 - 70 Euros, nowadays I saw them for under 50 Euro.

For $175 dollars, I got the Historic Racing Miniatures (Harold Bradford) Cobra Daytona coupe and it is full detail:) I now also have his Cheetah kit (again full detail:)

If you haven't seen the quality of Harold's resin kits, you should take a look. They are exquisitely done.

Right you are, if have their Ford GT40 engine for the Fujimi kit, it is great

It is my understanding that HRM is no longer producing the Cobra so it too has quickly become out-of-reach (just like his 917 engine)...

But enough of all this as there will be plenty of time to debate this when the WIP's of the SMS prodcuts come along....;-)>

Once again, just a really great job on this build and thanks again for sharing!

Bill
