Winter driving to spring driving...

Hi all, name name is Jen. I have a black 2001 Mustang GT that I drive here in Michigan. I'm a college student and this is my only car so I've learned over the few years I've had it how to drive in snow.

I've had my share of snow stucks and hills I couldn't climb but now I face a different problem... It's spring and things are getting muddy.

The parking lot I have to park in at school is sometimes a muddy mess. I can't afford a sticker lot so I suffer with the mud. I've gotten stuck twice which is kind of embarrassing but the problem I'm having is the mud getting totally everywhere in the wheel wells.

What is the best way, safest way to clean it out? Is the high pressure sprayer at the manual car wash the best? Are there electronics that can get hurt?

Just last week I got stuck pretty bad right after I backed out of my spot and ended up spinning my tires and rocking for about 15 minutes to get free. By the time I managed to get free the mud was really soft and flying everywhere. When I finally got on the road I left a trail of mud everywhere. I got worried that maybe it was getting where it shouldn't be.

I took my hose to it when I got home but that didn't do much good. I can see see a bunch in and around my rear drive shafts to my wheels.

I know the real answer is "don't park there" but sometimes I don't have a choice. The first time I got stuck it was dry as a bone but we had some serious rain while I was in class and I came out to a bunch of deep soft mud ruts from the other cars. I tried to drive around and miss the majority of them but I started slipping at one point and and just sunk in bad. That time I needed a pull from this guy in a 4x4 truck to get out.

I took my stang to a car wash after that and it really didn't do the job. So any hints?

pressure washer wont hurt anything under there, its your best bet. good luck.
