Does anyone know....

Had a issue with my 01 330i where the car was stalling and hesitating and the check light would come on. The dealership kept saying the cam sensor was no good and they kept replacing this sensor 4 different times while the car was under warranty. Now that the car is out of warranty and it is still dong the same thing they said the said the Vanos system was bad and needed to be replaced.

So I was wondering if anyone knows if a bad Vanos system can cause the cam sensor to keep going out? If this is what was causing the issue with the sensors they should have been able to diagnose that...while under warranty.
