Hello, ok I have a 97' Jeep Wrangler that for some time now has had trouble starting. It takes about 2 or 3 times trying to turn it over before it does finaly turn over. I have noticed it getting worse and worse. A friend of my said it was a bad flywheel and another said it's the starter...any opinions?

What exactly is it doing? Does it sound like the starter is spinning but its not catching the fly wheel or is the starter not doing anything?
The only thing I can think that could be wrong with the fly wheel is it could be missing some teeth. If thats the case, you would have to rock the Jeep back and forth with it in gear so the starter could grab a tooth.
Id say that if your starter spins really fast and doesnt catch the fly wheel, your bendix is hanging up on the starter.
