First off...Where is the EGR?? I thought I was going to go out real quick and clean it...I pulled off the top cover plate so I could see the top of the intake but with no avail....I thought it would be right there off the intake....I suspect it's all the way in the back where I couldn't see..Must a new gasket be used?

Second....The haynes manual I looked at said to never use chemicals or wire brush to clean off the pintle of the EGR...It says on clean with soft cloth as to not to damage the EGR...Is this true?

Thanks for all the help...

It is located in front of the oil filler cap on the passenger side of the truck. It has two bolts that hold it in place. As for cleaning it with a soft cloth, I believe that the premise is to not bind the pintle in anyway. Now I am not sure if it is safe to use an electrical parts cleaner, such as MAF sensor cleaner. Anyone out there have an opinion on that?
