front springs 89 mgm

had the front springs replaced along with tie-rod ends, shocks and idler arm. went to Sears to have fe aligned but they couldn't. the front end is an inch or so higher than it should be and there is no room for adjustment to the caster and camber. called my mechanic and his parts supplier swears they are the correct springs, Moog # 8656. I also found a site that shows 2-types of spring based on options equipped. the other spring is Moog # 8652. it also make a horrible sound like the spring is hanging up on something then it decompresses with a popping and grinding sound. this usually happens when entering or exiting a parking lot where the height of the road changes. could they be the wrong springs or maybe installed upside down? is that even possible? please help, need to get the fe aligned so I don't eat up my new tires.:frown:
