ok got a 98 civic and today when i turned my car to go to work it started to shake like if it wanted to turn off it went for about 6 seconds and then the check engine light started to blink like about 3 times then i cut the power and turn it on again same thing but no blinking check engine light what could this problem be?? i have the check engine light on now and ran the codes but it never blinked b4 can u guys help me out?? thanks

There's a lot of things that can do that,but most of them would give
you a more definite code.
I would look real hard at the plugs, wires and cap.
Make sure everything is connected and working.
Pull the plugs and look at them, one may have a piece of carbon
stuck in the gap.
Also you may need to check your fuel pressure, could be the pump.
You may need to have diagnostics run at a shop with a machine,
that'll isolate it quickly.
If it's just one cylinder that's not firing you can isolate it by pulling
plug wires one at a time (engine running) untill you get one that
doesn't make a difference-that's the one.
(Use insulated pliars at the distributor, loosen them before starting)
If you find one cylinder that doesn't make a diff., try swapping wires
and see if it goes with it. If it does then it's the wire.
