hi, i have a question, is there a way that i can get just a starting battery for under the hood and a deep cycle in the trunk and be able to isolate the starting battery from the deep cycle so that i dont have to hope that i can start my car and i want the deep cycle to be connected to the alternator also.
main reason i am asking is that the deep cycle that i want does not fit under the hood.

yep, it's called a battery isolator

yea after i made this post i firgured out that i wanted it isolated so i firgued that was what i wanted.
when i try to find one i see that they are rated my amps is that including the amount the engine needs or just the assorieys(sp)

I have never used one but I can only assume it is rated by the amps of the battery (or load) that is being isolated

ok also isn't wiring in parall the same or is that when you have to use the same type of batterys

well, essentially you are wiring parallel - just that there is a box between the two positive posts

ok i think just one more thing if i got the biggest HO made for my car and it is not enough still if i used the second battery for all the amps and that will make it so that the starting battery does not have to due with the stress because the alt will not be able to recharge compeletly(sp) now if the second battery drops to low in voltage it won't take it from the starting battery right. that is the main reason i kinda of want the isolator

I think the starter battery is protected by the isolator, but I am not sure what happens if the car is on.
