1978 727 trans question

i bought a used 727 trans and with the torque converter on, with trans out of car you can spin the trans one way but when you try to spin it the other way its almost impossible to move i do not know enough about transmissions (just how to put them in and out) i figure it out thanks

I have put a lot of older car trannies in in my life, including pulling out, and replacing the convertor, and never saw one i couldnt turn both directions, so indeed i would investigate it further before i slpped that up against a engine.

And luckily the 727 is one of the easier trannies to rebuild. And you would have all new seals when you are done too...
