10mm plug wires and coil pack question.

I have a 96 2.2L cavalier and I have bought 2 different sets on 10mm and 10.2mm plug wires for my car and both sets will not reach from my plugs to my coil pack. Has anyone bought a set of 10mm wires that will reach on a 96 cavalier 2.2L? I also was told that some cars you can move your coil pack. Can it be done on my car?
Thanx

i have those on my 99 2200. (2.2L) and reach just fine... I've heard of people moving them, but I'm not sure where or how. Not my area of expertise..

The shortest stock wire is 37in long and the shortest 10mm wire I got is 12in long. Not even close to reaching for me. Guess IM going to have to call Chevrolet and ask them about the coil pack.
Thanx

Where is your coil pack located? Is your coil pack on the back on the engine?

Guess I was sent the wrong wires twice. Man that sux.

OH ya 1 more thing about this question. 3 of the wires will reach. If I put just 3 on, will I gain any hp at all? Or will it mess things up having 3 10mm and 1 7mm wire on?

95-97's LN2 coil pacs are in a stupid ass location under the intake manifold. Gotta Love GM... tis why the LN4 is improved.

LOL so true dude. Sucks cause I have to jack the car up and climb under the car just to change my wires.

Hey derk I think you need alittle degreaser and a hose on your engine...lol j/k. So your saying that the 10mm wires doesn't give any hp gain at all? All the adds saying u gain 5 to 10 hp gain was just talk? I really didn't think I'd gain 5 to 10 anyway but at least 2hp:(

I came up with a dumb but very usefull idea. I have a bypass on my mass air intake and I took a fan that came out of an old computer I had and put the fan inside that bypass and ran it to a toggle swith to turn on when I want it to run cause if it just runs off air, the air will blow into the engine and out the engine and I wouldn't get any good air at all. Nice thing about it, you can't see the fan being inside the bypass so it doesn't look so crapy..lol But I have felt a big difference in hp believe it our not. My front bumper was to my friends rear quater panel on his turbo eclipse. Which last week when we raced I was 2 links behind him. For a 4 cyl cavy to be running with a 12 psi eclipse if pretty good we all thought. Thanx to my drunk thinking at the time..hehe All my friends keep asking what I did, but they shall not EVER know..lol

5hp gain max... no way thicker wires would give you a carlength... and plus if you have a 2.2 you should not be keeping up with an eclipse, especially turbo... unless he's not trying... my buddy has a 4 cylinder eclipse and he mops me up everytime... add 12psi to that and you're not talking in carlengths anymore you're talking football fields

big wires add as much HP as the decals on your windshield do

Ya I don't even like the way the 2nd gens look. I bought a 96 with no engine, but I have put one in.
