time for a new bov

i beleive that my bov is going bad. it makes a weird whistling honk between 3 and 4k rpms which seems to be pretty consistent with what i've heard about bad blow off valves. reading back on other threads it seems like the greddy rs and dsm bov's are the preferred replacements. anything that might be worth considering?

I have hte greddy type-S and it works great. My only complaint is the cost for something that doesn't add any power. If I were doing it again, I'd probably have just gotten a crushed dsm. Also I think somebody on 3si mentioned the Evo stock bovs look pretty similar, and obviously their stock turbos push more pressure than ours...so they should be good for bpu. I'd make sure tehy fit before buying, but that maybe another cheap option.

how much boost are you running, planet? If you dont plan on boosting over stock levels, just grab a stock replacement from someone on 3Si.

stock replacements blow...they all leak. The question is just how much. Over time, it will get noticeable. Mine was leaking at stock boost at 50k.

My stock one is startin to go as well. I'm lookin' at the Blitz ssbov, but I'm not sure if I wanna spend that kind of money on a bov :shakehead . I do love the sound tho...

im on stock turbos and i usually try to not boost over about 14psi. i wouldn't mind an aftermarket sound but i'd rather not pay for it. i think i might just get a crushed dsm cuz it sounds like that might be the best way to go. whats the best place to find one? 3si? dsm trader?

okay, so i've been a little delinquent in getting a new bov and i would really like a new one by the next time i hit the track on the 15th so i really want to order today. let me know what you guys think of these options:

-ebay has a ton of dsm bov's, most uncrushed, for dirt cheap. right now i think that is going to be my best option because i can get out for under 50 bux. can i get away with an uncrushed one? one ebay seller is claiming up to 20psi on an uncrushed dsm bov but then again, its ebay. im running stock 9b's so anything over 15psi is unnecessary anyway.

-IPS motorsports has a greddy type-s for $175, almost $100 less than 3sx.

at this point im really thinkin' the ebay route. my only concern is punctual shipping because i'll need it by at least a day or two before the 15th to make sure that i have time to put it on and test it out.
