heres what i would try..get a can of sea foam run it through your vaccum line should be the thicker line next to your brake booster. basically run 1/3- 1/2 the can through that vaccum you will need to keep the throttle around 2500-3500 rpms or its going to stall...next dump 1/3-1/2 into your gas tank this will clean your injectors..the point of the vaccum line next to the brake booster its going to clean out the top end of the motor ( egr valve ) this may or may not due it but its 6 bucks and you cant screw anything up.

for any more information on this please feel free to stop by www.clubprotege.com (http://www.clubprotege.com) theres many how to's and write up on this procedure

The egr is on the back of the engine, drivers side behind the throttle body. It's a bit hard to get to. They tend to clog with carbon deposits and can stick open or shut. If this doesn't fix it, there may be a problem with your catalytic converter. Ask the emissions testing place if they have a suggestion.
