Chime stays on constantly

The door/headlight chime stays on constantly in my 02 LeSabre. It starts a couple of seconds after going into drive and never stops. The left rear wire bundle in the wheel well was torn up when I shredded a tire last summer, but this problem just started last Thursday (3/15/07). I checked all of the wires in the bundle and they are not shorted against each other - I terminated each one w/ a piece of tape. Questions - How can I turn this off / which fuse is it and what else do I lose? The manual mentions a volume control by pressing radio button 1 w/ radio powered off - it didn't bring up any kind of control display to make the change. Is there a "software fix" to quiet the chime? If it's not the rear wire bundle, what else might cause this?

Check your brake fluid. If you shredded a tire metal cords could have damaged
the brake line. The only other thing I can think of is trunk lid sensor lead. If the car will run without chime (but not in gear) that is the only thing I can
think of.
