Hi everybody,
I am so glad I found this website.
I am a new owner of this car. Last week I change the oil(castrol high mileage SAE 10W-30) at Walmart according to the previous owner's sugguestion.
But I just checked the Buick manual, they recommend the supercharger oil GM P/N 12345982.
This morning I called the autozone, and the person asked me if I need the engine oil or supercharge oil, he said there are different. I am totally confused.
Now what I am supposed to do?
Thank you for your help.

GM supercharger oil is available from most Buick, Pontiac, Chevy dealers by the part number you listed. Give them a call first, to see if they have it in stock. Do not use any other type of oil in the SC!!

your car uses BOTH oils. supercharger oil in the supercharger and engine (10W30) in the engine. these are seperate! you must change out the engine oil every 3k miles, use only 5 quarts of 10W30 and replace the filter with the Ac Delco PF52.
the supercharger oil does NOT need to be changed out regularly. once every 50k miles is fine. only use gm supercharger oil, and it can only be found at the dealership.(you need 2 bottles or 8oz) if your not used to working on your engine, let the dealer change the superchargers oil and then dont bother with it again.

Thanks a lot!
I have another question, the 95 Riviera has over 180k miles(orignal engine&SC).
The previous owner told me that I probably need a new SC.
But if I do not do that, this one still can go like 20k miles.
Is it correct?

unless its broke dont fix it. you can get a new supercharger for pretty cheap, but you dont need to replace it at a certain mileage unless the rotors fall apart. it should outlast the motor. if you start having noise from it then you can replace the coupler and bearings in the snout(the thing with the pulley on it ;)
