Hey all, as some of you may have noticed I have been absent the past week or so. It was spring break for us and I went to Savannah Georgia for it. Heres the story!

Ok, so it started off with us leaving Minneapolis around 12:30 last Saturday. The caravan consisted of a University 15 passenger van and our captains 01 Corolla that burned a quart of oil every tank of gas . I was driving the car. We drove to our captains parents house in Madison, Wisconsin where they fed us a fucking like 6 foot long party sub from Subway. We demolished that shit. So we got gas and switched drivers. The new driver smoked two bowls before driving and this sparked a big conversation about how well a stoned driver can drive. About 30 minutes later the other guy in the back seat with me was like, "What the fuck.... which direction are we going?" After a bit of sign reading, the stoned navigator and driver drove us a half hour in the wrong direction :banghead:. The other guy with us took the wheel, I grabbed navigator, and we went the right direction again.

Well, the current driver was pissed off as hell and just wanted to catch up. It seems like we were blazin so I look at the speedo... 85 mph. So yeah, we were going pretty quick. All the way through his 4 hour shift we went fuckin 20 over the speed limit and managed to not hit any cops. Not wanting both stoners in the front again, when we switched up drivers I stayed navigating and we got another driver. Sure enough, he set the cruise control at 85 and we blazed almost the entire way through Illinois at 85, again no cops. Another 4-4.5 hours later it was my turn to drive. I was a bit wary at first and only went around 75. In a matter of 20-25 minutes I was going fucking 85 as well. I got us out of Illinois, through Kentucky and into Tennessee going 85 when we decide to call them and see where they were. They said 40 miles out of Nashville just as we past a sign saying we were 43 miles out. Thinking we were really close, I took off the cruise and depending on other cars and hills I was going between 85 and a bit over 90. Sure enough, we keep this up all the way til Nashville and in Nashville I blaze through a speed trap at 85. He didnt even try to follow me, no light flash or anything. So then I get back on it, now going 90 because we were getting anxious about catching them. Another speed trap. FUCK right? No! No cop trouble again! So I keep going all the rest of the way through Nashville and sure enough just outside of Nashville there is some road construction they were caught in. We fly past and make ourselves known. We all stop together and change up drivers shortly after that. But can you guys believe it? We drove around 12 hours on a damn Saturday night averaging atleast 20 over and blowing through atleast 2 speed traps with out even getting pulled over?

Anyway, we got to our campsite and set up camp. It was a nice camp ground, but there were gnats all the fuck over down there! It drove me insane. We just kinda sat around that night and kicked back. Some guy had a giant fuckin 4 liter jug of some cheap ass bum wine that we passed around. I barely got a good buzz, but shit I was hungover in the morning.

Monday was cool, all I did was go to Waffle House (good shit, they dont have them up north), go to down town Savannah, and study. It was a good time, except I gained a new nickname, Screech. There was an ambulance at an intersection and I didnt know whether it was going to keep going across the intersection across my path or turn onto the same street I was so I locked up the brakes leaving a good 20 ft skidmark and the smell of burning rubber in the car. Sure enough, it wasnt crossing my path anyway.

Tuesday was the first day of tournament play. We played like ass the first game, but for good reason. Most of us hadnt played together before, it was the first tournament for 3-4 of us, and on top of all that we hadnt thrown a disc outdoors since fuckin October. The second game we got better, but still lost and better yet for the third game but lost again. We never got blown out, but lost like 7 or 8 to 13 each time. When we got back to camp we made a giant ass pot of mac'n cheese. It sucked though, the lid was supposed to be one of those lock and pour ones. Well evidently it was supposed to hold 7 lbs of macaroni and broke spilling our macaroni on the ground. We were like fuck it, we're hungry so we scooped most of it up and ate it anyway. I tell you what, that was the best mac'n cheese I've had in a long time.

Wednesday was good as well, except we had much better games. We dominated the first team like 2-13. It was hilarous, they were staying at our campground just a few sites down from us. The next game was a hard fought loss, we hit the time cap and the ended up getting it 12-11. The next game we won as well, another blow out IIRC something like 3 or 4 to 13. That night wasnt especially good, Duluth's mens and womens teams were down for the same tournament and we are good friends with them so we went over there Wednesday night. I stayed sober, I dont like drinking that much anyway. Well, our captain had to get let out half way back to puke and just waved us on by. Sure enough he got lost and wandered a good 1/3 of a mile in the wrong direction and another guy and I had to go find him.

Then Thursday was bracket play. We had frist seed in the C bracket, so we had a by the first game which kicked ass. We played our first game, the first half was bad. We thought we would just kill them but they started out ahead with a good 4-6 lead. We came back and took the half 7-6. Again they got a jump on us, but we shut them down after that, the final score was like 9-13. Then semifinals came, they were easier. I think we beat them like 7-13. It was tiring game, the cap system is different than normal. Normally, there is a soft and a hard cap, once you hit the hard (time) cap, you are just done. Well its just soft cap at this tournament, at an hour and 15 minutes you play to the winner plus 1. After the cap, they scored two points before we could get that last on to end the game.

Then finals came, it was one of the teams we played the first day. It was a hard fight, we played well but we were all tired and the wind didnt help. They just plain had more athleticism and more guys. I think we lost that game 9-13. I was horribly pissed though, I made a jersey out of a white shirt and a permanent marker and on the name spot I put my nickname, Big D. A bunch of hoes in the Clown (thats the team we were playing) were talking all sorts of shit to me like "Whats the D stand for, douche bag?" Its a good thing I never got the disc, that bitch would have gotten a blade in the face.

That night was a good one, we went to the Duluth camp and partied. I was going to allow myself to get drunk once over break and that was the night. I was having a great time, they had some brown ale that was the SHIT. I love that stuff, its the only beer so far that doesnt make me gag after a cup or two. After that the Bud Select got to me a bit and when I was leaving my buddy made me chug the rest. Sure enough I immediately get a bit sick and stumble as far away from the fire as I can, grab a tree, and unleash. I found out in the morning I only made it like 10 feet and I fucking puked all over this guys jacket! Anyway, I said good bye to everyone, including a good 5 minute ramble at this really good and cute girl on the Duluth team about how good I thought she was and how I liked watching her play. So then on the way home, our halfway sober captain convinced me and another guy on the team to streak home. So that was kinda funny especially since there was a big party we ran naked by.

The next day was the beach, it was freakin awesome. We went to Tybee Island, I swear its the coolest place on earth. We played a little 500 in the surf, played a game called cups, and just layed around. It was my first time at the ocean, so that was definately cool. Shit was cold though! We went back to the campsite and conked out before leaving on Saturday. I didnt have to drive and only navigated one shift since I drove for 9 hours and navitated for another 8 on the way down. We got back around 1 yesterday afternoon. Its definately good to be home, but it was an awesome way to spend break! I will have a few pictures in few days. Thanks for reading my book!

Heres my home made jersey for the tournament. Ugly Duckling is our team name. See, the A team's name is Grey Duck so we saw it fit that the B team (us) should play off of that and be Ugly Ducklings. The exposed sleeve is the initials and birth/death year of my buddy Zach. He is the guy that kept me playing ultimate. He passed away almost exactly a year ago, his memorial service was March 9, '06 and we left for the tournament on March 10, '07. RIP Zach.

Anyway, thats it for now. Once I get those action shots I'll post up.

I lived about an hour west of Savannah, but I know that area pretty well.

Small town called Vidalia, also lived in another town in the area called Statesboro.

Atlanta is a bit more of a cool place than Savannah. Savannah has a fuck load of crime and can be a very nasty place in certain areas.

And I agree, Ill really sucks as does Nebraska.
