Trailer hitch

My friend has a 2001 Dodge Caravan Sport and asked me to help him find a fairly inexpensive hitch for it. He only wants to tow his boat (not a large one) to the nearby lakes. We looked under the rear of it and it looks like a couple of things would get in the way, mainly the muffler and spare tire.
Anybody got any ideas?
