94 4.3 to 89 305

ive got a 94 1500 2wd and im looking in to taking my 4.3 out. its got 234,000 miles and the motor run good but the trans. is going fast. i found a motor and trans out of a 89 caprice with 79,000 miles. its a 305 and 700r4 trans like mine. the 305 has got everything on it w/p, tbi, a/c everything. it runs great and the trans shifts really good. im needing to know if the motor will plug right in, in place of my 4.3. all the plug ins look the same but im sure im over looking some of them. and will in need to touch my computer. any info will be great. thanks again.

One issue is I believe the trans in 94 was a 4l60 -e electronic controls, the 89 is not, check if the truck has a detent cable.
