New Car

Hi, i din't know a lot about cars, just to let you know. I'm going to college this september and i want to buy a car before i go to college. I'll be going to rochester. where it snows a lot. I don't have a lot of money to spend on cars. i'm looking for car that won't get stuck on snow and will keep me safe on the road. it'll also need to be have great MPG, cus i plan on driving from rochester to long island once in a while and i don't want to spend shitload of money on gas. Any suggestion on cars.

An old civic hatchback or an old subaru wagon. Subaru may not get AS good gas mileage if it's a 4wd model but is still good on gas overall.
