door buzzer 1996 cherokee

I have a 1996 jeep cherokee sport... when standing outside of the vehicle you can hear the door buzzer around the area of the rear tail light (drivers side) However you can t hear it when your in the seats of the vehicle.... The car has to be running for the buzzing to be there... thanks for any help

Are you sure it isn't your fuel pump? If it is, add some Marvel Mystery oil to your gas. If it isn't your fuel pump, start taking off trim until you find the noise. I don't recall anything back there except tail light wires and speaker wires. The door buzzer is part of your fuse panel under the driver's side dash.
