2006 LaCrosse Steering

I have a 2006 LaCrosse CXS with 10,000 miles. It seems when I make a turn after a stop or turning onto another street, right after the car straightens up the front end seems to make a bouncing motion like the front tires are out-of-round, or needs balancing. This all started the day I rotated the tires as per the manual. I drove the car several days, and decided to rotate the tires back to their original location. The car still does the same problem in the front like steering. My thoughts were, one or more of the tires is out-of-round.. So to eliminate one tire at a time, I put on the temporary spare and drove the car. Still same old problem after I did all four tires. I think there is a problem in the steering system..

Interesting, I just bought a new 2006 CXS Lacrosse.
It has 2100 miles, I noticed the front tires have extreme tread wear
on the outer edge. The dealer is going to do an alignment check on
Monday. I will pass on what I find out.

Wow, not a lot of action on this site, at any rate the dealer said that
my car was out of alignment & the front wheels were "towed in" to
much. I am surprised that a car could come from the factory like that.
It's worth checking alignment if you are experiencing steering problems.
Castor or camber adjustments could be off.

I just had my 2006 La Crosse CXL in for an alignment check. It has less than 10K miles, but I noted a pull to the right.

Sure enough, it was out of alignment. The shop I took it to is very honest and fair; the service manager told me that they many new cars in that are out alignment. It could come that way from the factory and/or go out of alignment as the cars are unloaded from the transport trucks that take them to the dealer.

Take any steering sounds and issues seriously.
The LaCrosse has problems with the outer tie rod and intermediate shaft.
It is in a TSB.
I had the right tie rod replaced at 26K mi and the intermediate shaft is on order.
I have seen this posted several other places, so I assume it is fairly common.

Otherwise I am very pleased with the car.

We have gotten a huge number of Lucerne's out of alignment right from the factory....covered under warranty so don't worry.
