Light and beeping comes on right before i turn the car off

Hey everyone.

I have a 2001 Jetta GLS with about 81,000 miles on it, manual transmission. When I pull into my garage, a yellow circle with a dotted line bordering it comes on and starts beeping. This only happens when I pull in and right before I turn the car off, never when I'm driving.

Any Ideas?

If it has a triangle inside its the asr light. Most commonly its caused by a faulty brake light switch. Call your vw dealer and check and see if you have an open N4 recall for the brake light switch on your car. Or post the vin and I can check if I get time.
