Hey I bought a new car today.
1967 Pontiac GTO. I have already stripped
everything from the body. The body will be
shaved and I will be redoing the front clip.
I just have to figure out how to dechrome the
front bumped, anyone know how too?
Right now all the chrome molding has been
removed and after the paint is stripped, Ill
bondo the holes and smooth a couple parts
of the body.

That is going to be one hell of a project!!!:D :D
I think you should try sanding the chrome off, then prepping it to paint, if that is what you want to do. I can't think of what grit to use, preferably one that is not too rough, but enough to remove the chrome.

below is a pic of the grill. Im going
to remove the dual head light and just center
one of them. Also Im going to blacken the
grill inserts to make it look more like mesh.
Also im probably going to color match some of
the grill with the car.
When I was modifing plastic models
someone was using some type of liquid
to take the chrome off. But I like the sand
paper idea. It would be better since im planning
on leaving some of the chrome on certain
parts of the bumpers.

That would look sick!!:)
If you need any additional help let me know. I'm going to be doing a project with a beetle. Turning it to a convertible and using the rims and wheels of the Chevrolet Concept SSR, Audi TT lights, etc.
Welcome to AF BTW!!!:D:D:D
