locked in 4wd help

when you start the truck the thing in the passenger kick panel clicks constantly for about 1min then stops and says 4lo on the switch. i click the 4hi or 2hi and it will blink then when i put it in nutral it clicks back to 4lo. ive tryed to disconnect the vac lines and its still locked in i disconnected a sensor on the front axel ..nothing, i throw it in reverse and hit 4hi it flashed until i hit nutral at 2mph. i personaly think its a encoder motor but id rather find a way to manual put it in 2hi and not us 4wd since summer is almost here..someone said if u take a pair of pliers and turn something on the tranfer case it will go into 2hi? idk anyhelp would be apprecialted

We need the year make and model and engine.
And also what transfer case you have.
There is a ID tag on back of transfer case.

sry its a 99 blazer ls 4x4 with 3 button and auto tranny ill get back to u tommrow on the tag number

3 button may be a 233.
As always check fuses and wiring and plug ins.
If a 233 you can pull codes by grounding pin 13 on the diagnostic connector.
And always run a search in the how to sections.

hi i own a 95 and 96 blazer.......the 96 just recently gave me problems with locked in 4wd also........turned out to be vacuum switch located on transfercase on top at drivers side 3 vacuum lines on switch holding front diff locked check this out.......i removed vacuum line from front actuator under battery for tempoary repair till i got new switch.........quote=pinhead989]sry its a 99 blazer ls 4x4 with 3 button and auto tranny ill get back to u tommrow on the tag number[/quote]
