1993 Battery Problem

I have a 1993 Thunderbird 3.8 liter 6 cylinder. I do not drive the car every day anymore, but last weekend I went to start it and the battery was dead. I took the battery to Auto Zone and they said it was dead. I bought a new one and the car started just fine. That was Sunday. I went to move my car out of the garage yesterday and it the battery was completely dead. I hooked the battery to a charger overnight. Is there something wrong with the car itself that could be draining the battery completely in 3 days. No lights or accessories were left on. Thanks

Has it been cold where you live? If not, you have a parasitic load. Make sure nothing at all is left on, and hook a test light between the negative battery cable and terminal. (Unhook the terminal first.) Then, start pulling fuses untill the test light either goes out or dims considerably.

First things to check are the courtesy lights. Be sure they are not staying on. These include interior lights, glove box, hood and trunk lights.

Same thing happened to my wife's 91-Bird. Took it to the mechanic cause I figured it had a short somewhere. It was the alternator. Mechanic said sometimes when alternator goes bad it will keep draining current even if the car is shut off.
