anyone done a b18b1

i bought a 95 b18b1 for my 90 civic dx hatch. Now i know a few things about the swap i have the engine pulled out of my civic and i have it all striped. Mow i know the 90 civic dx does not have 4 injectors it only has two. So i had to get a 91 harness , ecu , injectors, and distributor. All that is done the engine is wired up i am just waiting for my 8.5lb flywheel , clutch and cam gears. Then i can drop th b18 in . So i was woundering if there was anything anyone could tell me i need to do. And also the motor is a 95 auto and the trans is a 91 5spd(cable clutch) is there anything else i need to change over besides the flywheel.

You are going to also need an aftermarket mount kit and shift linkage because b series motors will not just drop into the 4g/2g civic/crx. You are also going to need a rear motor mount bracket from a 90-93 integra as well as the drivers side motor mount bracket. The drivers side on the 95 b18 has the mount studs side by side while the mount kit uses an offset pattern. You will also need a 90-93 integra intermediate shaft and axles if the motor you have does not have the axles and intermediate shaft already.

yes i have the 91 inter and jack shafts . I also have the 91 drivers side mount. I thought i could just move my rear mount one hole over.

Do you have the 91 bracket that actually attaches to the block(not the rubber mount)? That is what I am talking about. You definitely need a mount kit unless you are a skilled welder.

no i didnt get the rear bracket. My father is a machinist and he has been welding for about 25 years. So i guess i will get him to weld it. Do you think it will hold up?. Or do you know where i can find a set of urathene mounts the only ones i have found are like $400. Also do you know if i have to change my piolet bearing on my motor if it was an auto and i am changing it to a stick.

To tell you the truth I would really get a mount kit. It positions the motor in the engine bay correctly. It helps to align the axles properly and clear everything. Check out www.hasport.com or www.hcpengineering.com If you want to do the cut and weld method you are going to have to cut the existing mounts on the chassis and re weld them in at different spots to correctly position the motor. The mount adapter kit allows the motor to drop in without any welding.

I agree, get a mount kit, it will be much more logical, especially inthe long run.....
