Sons 2001 LS had soft pedal. It needed pads so we went ahead and
changed them. Tried to bleed brakes at the calipers but could not get any fluid. and the pedal is totaly soft to the floor. Help!!!!:banghead:

I'm not implying that you don't know how to bleed brakes, just need to be sure. How did you try to bleed them? Did you have someone apply pressure to the pedal, then open the bleeder screw, vacuum bleed, or other?

If you tried the pedal/2-person method, did you try a few cycles (ie: close the bleeder before the pedal got to the floor, release pedal, repeat with applying pressure to the pedal, then opening the bleeder, etc.?

If you used the vacuum pump, did the pump hold vacuum, or did you have to keep pumping it up?

What is the fluid level in the master cylinder? Did you verify there are no leaks in the system?

and often you have to hhave the key in the 'on' position to allow fluid to pass through the ABS block.

Always start with the wheel furthest from the ABS block, working toward the closest.
