Hi, im looking to buy a new car and im not sure whats out there, so lets hear some suggestions. My requirements are:
max $14,000 Canadian
good MPG (like 20-25+)
fast and fun to drive stock, will upgrade as time goes on but i dont wanna dump a crapload of cash into it to get it upto the speed i want.
4,6, or 8cyl, dont care
car/truck
Not a honda :P
Would prefer a Domestic, but im open to other opinions.
Ive looked in to the subaru wrx which is my favorite but the insurance would bankrupt me. Thinking bout the camaro/firebird, but the MPG is less than i want (but they look like FUN! ) so ya, have at it. Thanks

A new car for 12 grand US with the specifics you mentioned...Not happening.
Try a used car in that price range and you will have many cars to choose from. Unless of course you will be financing and thats your down payment than you have alot of choices.
SRT
Cobolt
Mustang
Scion
Civic SI*
350z
EVO but same principles apply as an WRX STI heafty insurance

I hear they have paint problems, which can be quite costly. I don't know much of the details about that though.

Someone on another forum suggested a Dodge Omni/daytona/shelby, the omni seems like it would be a great sleeper, they haul lol, the insurance would be very low, they get good mpg (25city/35hwy) and are turbo'd. Im still not seeing anything that really screams BUY ME, given the following requirements what would YOU buy and why?
$15,000
good mpg
fun/fast
wont cause shitty insurance rates (wrx etc..)
doesn't cost a crapload to work on (300zx i hear)
Aaaaaaand GO

Sorry, I still would get the WRX (wagons tend to be cheaper), but i could care less about what i pay for insurance though. Consider a subaru 2.5 RS or a Celica GT; fun to drive those cars. 01-up Monte Carlo LS/SS has 180-250 horses, about 20/30 mpg, and is domestic. Just specifications though.
