Supercharger questions.

1995 Buick LeSabre
3.8 supercharged engine

Getting a clank from the nose piece on supercharger @ idle. Aslo an occasional grinding noise while driving. Disconnected the belt and noise is gone. Belt runs the waterpump so I don't think it wise or possible to reroute the belt and bypass the SC. The pulley turns smoothly but with some resistance and a lot of play in the gears/rollers.

Appreciate any advice or suggestions. Can the nose be removed without removing the SC entirely for repair? Any exploded views of the SC dissasembled?

Thanxs in advance! :)

BTW, how did you get a supercharged LeSabre? That option was not offered on the LeSabre. Is this a transplant engine, or SC?

Just thought I would mention it in case there were questions..

I have put a LeSabre PCM in my Park Avenue ULTRA SC and it seems to work fine. Its been in there for a year now. Prom was maintained as the Park's.

Of course now I get the gas mileage of the LeSabre in the Park...
Just Kidding...

Bassasasin, what has that got to do with the problem the OP has? If you want to post irrelevant stuff do it some other place. Also, wait until a question has been asked. How do you whether he has an Eaton M90 or M62 blower?

My thought process was that someone reads these threads and is gathering information on possibly putting superchargers in their LeSabres. That was my idea.
Thank you for seeing it as irrevelant.. I'm open to learn always. ::shruggs::

Why do you post argumentatively instead of explanitory?

Careful Bassasasin. :nono:

I could care less about your thought process and your posting in this and other instances amounts to non-contributory responses and post whoring which is a violation of AF rules that you agreed to at sign up. Also, challenging an AF Moderator in an open forum is not wise.

Check your PM messages in a few hours for a formal warning and explanation.

You are absolutely correct. I do not have a supercharged LeSabre. I have a 1993 LeSabre. My daughters boyfriend Scott woke me up at midnight last night bacause his car was making a grinding noise and was not certain of the cause. Half asleep I took a look and saw the same engine as in my Buick except for the supercharger. With a flashlight and only one eye opened his Bonneville looks very similiar to the Buick.

Thank you very much for the info. Scotts a good man with a love of cars. I enjoy looking over his shoulder when he is learning to do it himself.

Any dealings with or opinions of this rebuilder? For $195.00 it is a steal if it is worth it.

I am pretty sure the coupler is history. When you rotate the pulley their is free play for about 1/2 an inch. the vehicle has 120,000 miles on the clock. For the long haul I think the complete rebuild will be best. the couple replacement would be a cheap, quick, and temporary fix? What is your opinion?

Thanxs again,
