94 grand am missing

here is the problem. i have a 94 grand am and the engine is missing badly. when starting, it fires right up but misses once running. when given a little gas and held there the motor will have trouble running and then stall or the times it doesn't stall it will then rev high for a min. the check engine light comes on and goes away, and the problem with the motor staying running and wanting to stall has been gradually getting worse. i have replaced plugs and wires and the coils are good. haven't tried the coil housing, but wanted to make sure it's not something cheaper first.

Fuel or ignition.. .

If you have proper ignition then its Fuel.

Fuel filter or pump, or Camshaft sensor or fuel quality.

Try checking Fuel Pressure on the fuel rail with a Guage.
