vr4 takes on a g35 coupe

So I'm heading to work today, catch a red witha c ouple cars ahead of me, and a g35 coupe pulls up next to me. Light goes green adn I start navigating my way to the front of the pack, g35 following. We make it to hte front, I pick the wrong lane, and we catch the next redlight with him in the front and me directly behind him.

Light goes green, he takes off, I bog....BAD. Real BAD. Freaking got to like 4k before I managed to build any boost in first...which is just ridiculous. Finally I start to haul ass...slam it into second and I'm catching up.

Into third and I'm coming up on his rear bumper. At 80 I pass him, then I have half a car, then 3/4, then I see a cop pulling somebody over on the sidestreet coming up FAST. I nail my brakes, he does the same. The cop doesn't follow because he's already got somebody pulled over, but at this point I'm just waiting for whatever nearby cop he's radiod to come and get us at the next light....which takes FOREVER.

Finally goes green and we both hang a right. At this point I'm not so much interested in racing, as in getting the hell outta the area asap...so I don't wait for the g35 to finish the turn, I just boosted right through it and never thought twice. As I'm shifting into 3rd 1/8 mile later I look back adn see he's chasing but a decent ways back. After that we both took a few backroads and I got away fine...hope he can say the same.

Good kill. I've heard the new G35 is pretty fast (The one with 306hp). I haven't run one on the road though, so I dunno. The only 350Z's (The one's with 287hp) leave alot of competition to be desired from a drag racers perspective.

Ive heard the new ones are getting high 13's (mag racing), I think they are getting the 3.7L engine in the next year or 2 which should bump them up a few more ponies.

Good kill Geoff. Glad to see you are getting in some races. Roads must finally be decient though.

I like the G35 but their owners drive me nuts.

Trying to. :biggrin: The car's running right and I'm taking full advantage. It's never hard to find a race here. At the bar last night some kid showed up with a 69(?) GTO judge with a built motor, running high 11s and wanted to run. But then he went off to hook up with some girl and I didn't feel like waiting.
