Okay, now i know that everyone says that tbe b18 is good for turbo and has tourqe and everything.... but i have been hearing a lot of the b20 also... if i am correct, thats the crv engine.... well, i'll put in a b20, but what are the specs? is it really worth the b20 over the b18? cause the guy who is gonna do my engine swap says that is not that much more.... So, advice please... soon.. :) THanks!

Well B20 has more torque obviously. However you need to put a Integra Intake manifold on it because the CRV one is too big to fit into the Civic. B20 has good low end but crappy high end power since it was made for an SUV and not a sports car like the B18. A b20 really wouldn't be any faster than a B18 or even B16. They will all run about the same since they all have good points and bad points the others don't have.

and you know what we should do, i have been wanting to do this for a while, when i get my turbo, i am gonna steal a 1.8T badge of a VW or AUDI and stick it on the back of my car and take off everything else :) hehee

B18 is stronger for turbo without moding the block
b20 you have to resleve it if you wana run bost on it and have it be reliable
here peep the charts for hp

as alot of you know i know absolutely nothing about civic engines, but would you think since most civics have nothing for torque (compared to domsetics) you should go for the one with more torque then mod that b/c I know most of the import modifications you can get are hp builders, seems like torque isn't something alot of peoplew consider as much. Just wondering, lemme know if I'm totally wrong with this tho

Just about any time you add hp you also add torque that is why when you go to the dyno charts on the page listed above and look at the 500+ HP turbo engines, they also make over 300 ft/lbs of torque. In a honda it is good to start with a pocket ful of torque, but you can always make more :)

dude if you are really seiously about speed and poformance i would suggest you go with b-20. yes b-18 has more horses but whats the point if you have to be at 8,000 rpm to reach that level. torque wins races, horsepower sells. b-20 pulls hard from 2000 to 7000 rpms. i bearly push on the gas going 30 mph and i feel like i can get to 100 in no time. the gsr lags in that it doesnt have enough torque to posses that power, believe me my girlfriend has one. torque: passing power at the tip of your toes.:finger: i've beaten a gsr and a hatch with b-16 pretty good. you launch so much better and u stay there. everyone saying b-20 doesnt have that much top end. all i ask is how did u know when did you drive one. it might not be the best but i can get to 115 pretty good and im not running on the right computer so im sure i'd even get there faster with a pr4 comp. and thats straight 2liter stock. even you really want performance once you drop a vtec head into it, its all over the fat lady is singing, i guarantee you will be taking out a lot of people with that and especially in a 4th gen with the wieght you better be ready for some serious whiplashes from the b-20 torque. i wish i can let you drive mine so u can feel it.
horspower sells............................................. ........................torque wins you races:finger:
