Have a 89 S10 Blazer 4.3 4wd Automatic that continues to post a Code 32 at Highway speeds after about 5-10 minutes of steady highway driving. I can drive it to work for weeks in stop and go and at speeds of around 55-60mph for periods shorter than 10 minutes or so and it will not light the check engine light. I've had it to a repair facilitry and they replaced the same items I HAD ALREADY REPLACED.I'M NOT GOING BACK THERE AGAIN. The EGR valve has been replace, the EGR control valve has bee replaced, the vacumn line leaks have been repaired and the EGR port has been cleaned of carbon. After this was all done, it did the same thing. It runs great but the light is bugging the heck out of me. I'm just trying to fix the problem. I know taking the bulb out of the check engine light will fix it, but that's not what I'm after. Any help or ideas will be appreciated

i have the same problem, have narrowed mine down too blockage of passageways in the intake, i removed the filter from the egr solenoid and while engine idling i put my finger over the end of the solenoid where the filter goes and the egr valve should open up and cause the engine to stall or cut off, i did it this way by checking my dads 89 jimmy and comparing the 2 under same conditions, mine had no change in idle while my dads cut off, so now i know i have blockage not letting the Exhaust gases by when the valve is opened, just not sure the best way to clear it out....hope this helps,
btw i have the complete procedure for diagnosing 1987-1989 4.3L Z TBI
engines from chiltons if you need it, just let me know ur e mail, il send it to ya...

My email is john.geiger@afspc.af.mil . I kinda figured I'd find the problem to be something like that. Could you please email me the test procedures and I'll check mine out. Thanks

here is some info that may help, havent ceared mine out yet, but

"Sorry it took me a day to answer I worked 16 hrs. yesterday. Now the bad*(?) news. You should remove the intake manifold and clean the entire passage out. It is the only real way to be sure that you get it all out of the intake and the head. I have seen this problem on chevy's alot. I have tried just cleaning the intake with what I can see but I have found that it is usually an exercise in futility as you end up removing the manifold anyway. If you have questions about the bolts just use an old piece of cardboard and put an arrow for front and then remove them one at a time after lossening them all. I use a digital camera to show how the brackets went. Good luck and let me know how it turns out."

this is a reply from another site and person i trust whiole heartedly, was hping i wouldnt have to remove the intake manifold, but... will have to plan this for a saturday off work lol, anyway let me know how things go
