Engine stalling

I have a 2000 GP w/ the 3800 Series II engine. I have had some engine trouble the last few months. It started with a bad miss in the 4th cylinder. I replaced all 6 plugs and ran injector cleaner through and that problem seemed to go away.
Since then I have had a problem with the engine stalling out. I replaced the fuel filter over the weekend and the problem is still there. It seems to happen at randon times, both while at speed and while idling.
Does anyone know what might cause this? A sensor, something more major? I would appreciate any advice, thanks.

Welcome to AF.
Any SES/CEL light? Which model Grand Prix?
Basics.....either ignition or fuel. Check for proper spark. Crank position sensor is another possibility. When the engine stalls at speed do you get a TRAC OFF light?
Fuel - Check fuel pressure at the front fuel injector rail by the fuel pressure regulator. There is a Schrader valve where you can connect an automotive fuel pressure tester. 48-55 psi.

Thanks for the reply.
I got the SES to come one last night on the way home, but it went off about 3 minutes from home this morning. So I didn't have a chance to get it checked out.
I believe it's an SE and no TRAC light when the engine stalls.
Would a clogged air filter cause anything like this?

A bit of additional information:
I took the car to Advance and they hooked the diag. tool up and the code showed MAF sensor. Other posts I have seen here also point to that as the problem for the same symptoms that my car is displaying.
Does that sound plausible?

Absolutely. A bad MAF will cause stalling and a poor idle. You can disconnect it (electrical connector) and see how the driveability is. Then once confirmed bad get a replacement.
