Anything can fit in anything with the right amount of time and money. If you're asking if it will drop right in and bolt right up, of course not.

I don't even know what motor a cobalt has in it... All I know is the SS's are supercharged...

the regular cobalt has a 2.2L ecotec the SS has a 2.4L ecotec and the SS supercharged has a 2.0L ecotec and no, not all SS's are supercharged. i would know bacause i have kicked an SS's ass in my cavy, but i doubt i could have done that against a supercharged cobalt.

Yeah, you still shouldn't have "kicked his ass" It should've been atleast close, if not you losing. 170hp > 150hp - 163tq > 150ish tq. Granted they do weight a couple hundred pounds more.

Thats about the only way he could have won. Even if you have a z24 and the other driver wasnt that up to par you would still need to drive your ass off to make a good pull. Ive driven every motor in not only the cavys but also the cobalts in auto and stick and hands down the best engine out of them all is the cobalt ss 2.4. For a n/a 4 banger that thing has great pull. Give my a few hundred and I bet I could have it eating up even the sced turd and still keep the engine n/a. Its just a great motor and thats all there is to it.

To put things another way and into perspective....the 2.4 eco is to the z2.4 what the z2.4 is to the 2.2ohv.

my friends dad owns a tuner shop and has a dyno, so i tested my cavy just for shits and giggles and i found out it had 176 hp and 169 tq so yeah, i kicked the cobalts ass. i think i have a pick of the dyno test results some where, i will try and find them. :)

it allows you to tune pretty much everything in your car, including getting rid of the speed limiter or atleast raising it.

ohhhh, sweet. do you buy the stuff and do it yourself? cuz if you do i think i should pay derk a little visit. lol. i mean we live like 30 mins from each other.

Lances133

Yeah, you have to do it all yourself and i think it only allows you to tune 4 VIN #'s, so 4 cars. That's why people say to split it with your buds, the only problem I would have is finding someone to go in on it with, I don't know anybody with a decent car :(

hell, id be willing to go in on that.

PM me if you're interested in tuning some real power into your car :) You would make the 3rd person... it would be $216 each way. The total package costs 650...we're ordering ASAP and hoping to receive it by next Friday...

anyone else in Ohio willing to go in PM me...

depends on model and year. The other guy has a 2001 z24. I think it comes with 8 credits, and you use 2 for each car... I'm not 100% positive... you need to ask this guy.. http://ohiocustomz.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1253&start=0

go to that thread and read all the pages...

But I only want to by a new engine and put it in me 92' Cavalier RS. Its a pity they are not compatible... I think they should, because it seems like they have the same size.. and also it is the same manufacturer. What can I do if the new engine wouldn't fit? Cut it in parts? :uhoh:

Hey man I appreciate this guy, where do you find him with those photos? Please give me a link.

And no - I dont have any experience with wired diagrams - I will just take my old old engine with my both hands:) an pull it off. Then I will take a new engine with those same hands and put it in!:)
In any case if it wouldnt work I'll find somebody who is experienced with wired diagramms.

I just saw Pontiac Grand Prix on a station - an old one maybe from 1992 or so.
They put a new engine in it and it wont start. For a year or so. It seems like the computer doesnt recognize with it properly.
