need help 96 grand am

hey guys i have a 96 grand am se with around 130k miles on it and it will run fine from a cold start but if i shut it off and try to start it back up it wont start at all, sounds like its not getting any gas to the engine, but im deffinetly not an expert at this, so i was wanderin if there was somthing i need to replace or what?

Might help to know what engine you have ,
but I'd try testing the crank possiion sensor.

Could also be bad battery connections.
Make sure they are clean and tight and you are getting proper voltage.
Should be around 12.5-13vlts with the engine off, should be about 13-14vlts when running.

it's a 2.4 4-cylnder, how do i test the crank position sensor?

my dad and i where thinking it might be the fuel pump but i dont have a clue. lol
