My buddy has a 1991 honda Civic EX, Im not sure what motor it has, I think its the 1.6, but Im not sure. His tranny went, and I have a tranny from a dx laying around, can he use that in his car? I told him he could, since his motor is still a d serious motor, am I right? Or am I wrong?

Hold up. You need to be sure of the year of your dx tranny so you can use an appropriate clutch. So if your tranny is an 88, you need to pick up a clutch kit for an 88, NOT 91.

The tranny was pulled out of a 1991 Honda Civic DX as far as I known, it might have been a 90. But I no it wasnt an 88 or 89. The guy has a 1991 Ex Civic. So would he get a clutch for the tranny or his car?

He would need to get a clutch for the tranny, but as far as i know, 90 -91 clutches are the same. He CAN just throw on the clutch he has now, but i highly recommend picking up a new disc and pressure plate since your gonna be tearing the tranny out anyways. Also get your flywheel resurfaced. You can pick up exedy clutch kits on ebay for like 85 bucks shipped which grab a little better than OEM, plus i've heard good things about these kits.
