having erk & gerk problems with my 95 2.5 contour

i just got this car a week ago.its a 1995 2.5 5speed contour. and now the car is starting to do this bucking or jerking jolt thing while driving.now i seen in the other post that someone had the same problem. and they said that it had something to do with the (fule pump). when i drove the car for the 1st time it did not do this jurking at all. and the only thing i did was drove it home and parked it. the next day i went to take it for a spin and it started the jurking. now when i 1st drove the car it had about a little over the 1/2 mark on the gas gage. but on that day when it started doing that jurking crap it had only 1/4 tank of gas.today i went to see if anything under the hood looked out of place.but then i said to myself lets pull one of the spark plugs to see what one look like. and the electrode look like it was all most gone. it was smaller than a tooth pic. so i pulled the rest of the plugs out of the front of the engine to look at them as well. and they look to be all most gone too...Okay big (?) and i dont mean to sound like a n idiot. but dose autolite make plug electrodes that skinny. i mean its about this skinny( | )well maybe just a hair bigger.so can this be one of my problems that could lead up to the car jurking. anyway please if anyone has anything im all ears. and thanks for taking the time to read my post.:screwy:

yes they look just like that. so i guess thats what a plat plug looks like. i had know idea that the electrodes were that small. anyway i just learned that today when i went to auto zone to get new ones. anyway please keep me posted if you come up with anything on that jurking problem my car is having and thanks for your time and effort.

now i have a new problem. now the car wont start. well i took it upon myself to take off the air intake mani to look at the wires that go to and from the fuel rails to the fuel injecters. because the wires look to be weather check or brittal. i took the fuel rails off to pull out the whole wireing harness. then i patched the wires up with electrical tape. now i put every thing back together in the same way it all came off. but now it sound like the car has no fuel. it turns over. but it wont start now. now when i turn the key to on. i can hear the fuel pump humming. as if it is working. but when i go to turn it over the humming from the fuel pump stops.is that normal. now could there be something wrong with the fuel rails that go to the fuel injecters.like maybe i have a wire loose or something. because the car started fine before i did this job to it.anyway please if anyone has any idea as to what i did to this car give me a yell!!!

Check the shraeder valve on the fuel rail to see if you have fuel pressure.

ok i will try this. but what dose it look like. is it rounded and black with a cap on the top of it. and when you take the cap off it has a nipple in the middle of it. is this it.

okay i have gas coming out of that valve. now what. the only other thing i can think of is that the spark plugs. i took one of them and cleaned it with sea foam and a thoot brush.:uhoh: could that of been a dumb move. maybe i made that one plug too wet that when i went to turn the car over as many times as i did that it just flooded its self. anyway if you think of anything just give me yell.and thanks for the info. Do you or do you know any one or where i can get my hands on a 1995 2.5 v6 contour 5 speed fuel injector wireing harness.because i really think a new one would solve alot of my problems. the one that came in the car that i patched up is really.well in other words ...........F%#ked up.:screwy:

Alright, Im saying it probably has something to do with the spark then. Either its firing at the wrong time or its not firing at all. What you could do is pull out one spark plug and leave the wire attached and crank the car. Just make sure your not holding onto it. You should be able to see the spark. At least that will be able to tell if your getting a spark or not.

As for the wiring harness, id check the ACTUAL contour forums over on www.contour.org. We have a classified section over there and people are always parting out cars. Btw, if you have any more new questions, you may want to take them over there since theres about 1000x more Contour/Mystique gurus than this site. The only people that really respond to questions here are myself, jason, and prezetec98 and were all members of CEG. :iceslolan I honestly just come over here to help you guys and get you to join the real contour forum. ;)

okay i went today and got some spark plugs for it.and still nothing. then i tried the spark test with the one spark plugs out and it seems to not have a spark. so if that should be the case then that only means that theirs no fire. so what should i look for next. i turned the key to on to see if the wires that go to the spark plug wire module/ cap what ever they call it. to see if the wires had any power. and the one little wire that goes to the condensor or the little round silver thing thats mounted on the side of the module.and it has power going to it. then i checked the main plug that goes to the module and it only had one wire that had any power coming from it.man i dont know what to look for now. any ideas....and for the spark plugs i just got the cheap ones just to see if the car would fire. before i paid the money for the platenem ones. was this a bad call. the only thing i wonderd is that the OME spark plugs dont have to be gaped. so i did not know how much to gap the non platenem plugs. so i just put them in from the box.no gapping on them.what is the gapping specs on a 2.5 v6 contour.

i called ford and i told them about the problem i had with the wireing harness the one that spiders across the top of the engine from the fuel injector. and i told them that i think that the 1995 2.5 v6 has a recall on the wireing harness. so i gave him the vin # and he had to look it up. and he said that its possible that it has a recall on it. so i may have that wireing probem fix if i can get the car to the ford dealership garage.anyway i will keep posting to let you know how it came out.

well it did not turn out to good. the cars warenty is out dated. and the stupid wireing harness price is out of control. $7.56 seven hundred $ what the f#@K. thats just crazy for someone to have to pay that price for something like that. and if the car had good wireing in the first place no one whould have to replace it. i think that someone should sue the shit out of ford for something like this. now my car is pretty much junk. fu#k!!!

The wiring harness recall is good for 10 year/100K miles. Lukily I got mine in last year before it expired. Cost for the 4 new harnesses is right around $1400. Dont sue ford. Sue the person that owned it before you for not taking it in for a free recall.

the car is running again. well for the time anyway. now i found two contours. but the problem is that they have the 4 instead of the 6 cylinder. i dont think the wiring harness is gonna work.man thats just my luck. the cars are just up the road from my home. but they have the wrong engine in them. ? i found another problem my car is only running off of one o2 sensor because some dork! cut the wire that runs to the o2 sensor on the bottom. now my problem is that if this car needs this other o2 sensor then this could take care of the rought idle/acceleration thing im having. i hope .now the only thing i need is to find the plug to this o2.because they cut the wire from the o2 and the whole plug for that bottom o2 is gone. and i dont even know how to look for something that was cut and removed.anyway the o2 is still in the pipe but the wire was cut from it. can someone look at the bottom o2 sensor on their 1995 2.5 v6 contour to see where that wire comes from. just to give me a general area to look in for this wire that goes to that bottom o2 sensor. will appreciate it.

well did anyone come up with any info on the location of my 2nd o2 sensor wire.like what wire harness it comes off of. and its the o2 sensor on the bottom. some meat head sniped the wire and then removed it from the car. why. i dont have a clue.

well did anyone come up with the location of the bottom o2 sensor wire. like what wire harness it coms off of. the top o2 sensor wire comes off from the harness that over by the camshaft position sensor located on the passanger side of the car by the oil filler cap.

well it looks like the problem is solved with my 95 contour. it had really bad wiring in the wiring harness by the fire wall. instead of paying $765.00 for the harness i spliced new wire from one plug to the other and cut out all the bad wiring.so now it has new wiring in it. and now when i go to press on the brakes the brake light fuse doesn't blow anymore. and the car has an even idle now.

(... the one that has the info on how i fix my wire harness by splicing the wire's from plug to plug. and cut out all the bad wiring.the result was that it fix the problems the car was having.with the jurking/brake lights not working and the rough idle on my 95 contour 2.5 v6 5 speed.:grinyes:
