Best Procedure for 90-93 Engine Removal?

Going to do an engine(stock)/auto tranny swap on a 91 Accord. I have access to both a car lift and an engine hoist.

My questions are: Which is going to be the easier route of removal, take it out the bottom or pull from the top? Will leaving the transmission attached to the engine create any clearance problems when removing?

I would also greatly appreciate any advice you might could give for this procedure.
