Get a tamiya ta04 series! Can't go wrong with that. You can always upgrade it when you get more money.

If a TA04 can be brought for that money, then Outlaw is dead right, you won't be disappointed.
Otherwise I have a TL01 as a beater(although it is hopped-up to hell!) and it is pretty durable and great fun too.
