Help with radio problem

Hello,i just got a 1990 continental,i have a problem with my radio,when i turn the volume up i can barely hear anything out of the speakers,but when i play a cd i can hear it just fine...the cd player is seperate from the radio.Thanks for looking and the help.

Sounds like a bad radio... do you also have the tape player to test?

Thanks for the reply.yes the tape player plays good,i also noticed that some times neither the tape player will not have any sound and the cd player will not power on when i try to put a cd in,my wife drove the car for about 2 hours today and the tape player and the cd player worked great but not the radio,we just went out and checked the radio and the tape player has no sound again and no power to the cd player,should i replace the radio or try to rerun all the wireing,,

Cheap enough to replace the radio. I did mine. Depends what kind of a set up you want in it. Just get the adaptor face plate and the bypass the amps in the rear of the trunk. Or if you like the OEM radio, try ebay and they have some there once in a while. I sold mine on ebay.

Thanks for writing back,im probably gonna replace the radio and redo all the wires,i really dont need nothing to loud in the car,im gonna undo the wires and run new wires for the radio

If you're going to change the radio, make sure you buy the amp bypass. I've purchased the easy wiring harness too. Just my two cents, incase you already knew. Have fun!
