I've heard many different answers to this question but , whats the truth???? In a s13 style 240 (stock) with a red top sr20det (no upgrades) what would the quarter time be?

id say 14s, 15s with bad driver
but there are alot of factors

yep thats about what i figured.
But heres another Q? I new at the turbo thing so cut me some slack........
lets say that I put this boost controller , and uped the boost to around 14psi , about how many .10's do you think it would cut also any guesses at H.P.???????????????????

I have a 95 with exhaust, FMIC, and running at 14psi, at High alttitude heer in colorado and I run a 13.75. You really shouldnt up the boost with out new exhaust and intake but if you just uped the boost I would say low to mid 14's depending on gas, alltitude, driver, etc.

A local guy did 13.1 all stock with a SAFC, exhaust, intake, and boost controller. He richened it up and set the boost at 20psi. Ran a 13.1. I wouldnt advise this since its not safe, and i dont think you T25 would like it, BUT it has been done.

i've seen as low as a 12.7 with a stock Red top with 14psi, on slick and a two step limiter...

Thats what I wanted to here, whadoya think about that boost controller?

u will need FMI and injectors if u will up the boost

Id say go with a Turbo XS manual boost controller. This guy that worked for my dad was using one on his Sti, and he running well over 20psi.

just dont make the mistake of using a rising rate regulator. its how engines die. gruesome death.

I have a rising rate regulator, but i also have a fuel controller. In some cases you have to have a rising rate regulator so that when you come on boost, the pressure in the mixer is not overcome by the boost therefor not allowing fuel flow. Or atleast thats the best way ive understood it. Or are we both talking rising rate fuel PSI regulators?

yeah, but if you have a fuel controller, it will usually be able to compensate for the blunt force approach that the regulator uses. rising rate FMUs are just not accurate enough to handle alot of boost/tuning.

fuel controller will only increase the fuel flow from the injectors, you need the pressure behind it to keep the injectors from starving out also. I would highly recommend staying away from a FMU. That isnt accurate way at all.

tuned ecu with a FMU to control MINIMUM adjustments, wideband set on top off the tuned ecu...
...or you can be hardcore and just get a EMS setup :D thats everything in one package...plug play and tune...done deal.

BTW...i HIGHLY insist on upgrading atleast the fuel pump (if not already done) and possibly looking at a nismo adjustable FPR

so a rising rate FMU is at best good for minor bolt on turbo kits and such?

no, we kinda are screwing with you. A FMU isnt what i was talking about. I was arguing for RR FPR and they were arguing against FMU. A FMU is very unaccurate, inconsistant, etc...
An aftermarket FPR is a good minor bolt on though, where mine adds more fuel pressure when boost increases. I dont know what system you guys are running but thats how mine works.

14.2 with stock motor swap, stock side mount, rsr exmag exhaust, 8 psi, and crappy tires. had to launch at like 2k to avoid spinning the tires.
