This has been 10 weeks in the making, although Ive been restricted to just weekends I thought it would have taken longer.
There are only a couple of fuel & cooling lines to add - for that Im just waiting for some fishing line to arrive.

I used a mixture of the Tamiya kit, parts from RB Motion and the transkit from Thunder Valley which really did add alot and it is great using white metal for parts that are supposed to be metal - no painting just polishing to achieve the desired finish! A further etch set from Acustion was also used but proved to be virtually useless. I would have liked to have used some red leather look covering for the seat however I couldnt get my hands on any.

The kit as whole went together easily with little problems although I was surprised by some of the parts that Tamiya omitted. Nevertheless a thoroughly enjoyable build of an important car in motorsport history.

finally, a quick comparison against my 310B. 34 years between them, its funny you would think the Lotus is 1/24 next to the Ferrari.

Fantastic build, Sean.

I really enjoyed the WIP and thanks for sharing so many of your techniques which will make my job jsut soooo much easier

I'm coming to the UK next weekend so I'll be trying to find those books of yours as I just cannot find satisfactory references on the web for a 1962 version.

Really looking forward to your next project!

This is a beautiful piece of work. I really enjoyed all the detailing in your wip as with your previous wip's. I really like the comparsion picture between the old and new also. This is a great piece of racing history, top notch work you did here.

10 weeks, that is just being silly, nobody can possibly build a model like that properly in just 10 weeks. You must have a team working for you. :p

The finished model is simply superb, the best Type 25 build I have seen yet. Only one complaint - it deserves higher resolution pictures, at least 800x600. :)

Phil,

yeah your absolutely right, I was really disappointed with the pics this time, my little Sony usually achieves better results, not sure what I did wrong. Anyway I will re-do them once I have put the finishing touches to the car (fuel and cooling lines from the Fishing Line when it arrives). To be fair while I have been on my course, at weekends I have spent just about the whole time modeling 'cos the weather has been so crap over here, still I was surprised how quickly it took though.

Thanks again to one and all for the comments guys!

I built this kit many years ago and it's still one of my favourites. Clark is one of my all time drivers, a magician at the wheel. You've made a great job of this biuld - I like the attention to detail - the correct white piping around the seat - the retention straps and rubbers around the intake trumpets, it's all there. Very, very good. :smokin:

I have add the fuel piping using .5mm fishing line. Also managed to take a couple of better pics - I add a couple here - my little Sony camera is not the best at real close up so the fuel lines are not as clear as I would have liked, anyway - just ties up the loose ends with the car - it can now go into the display case totally finished.

and just to add a little 60's feel - a bit of photoshop fun.

I hope you think the pics are better.
