i am replacing the valve cover gaskets and have everything removed and ready to put back in, but i can't figure out how to get the gasket to sit either on the motor and set the cover on top, or if i set it in the groove in the valve cover and try to set it on the motor, it falls out. i had read here that you are not supposed to use rtv on these gaskets, but i cannot figure out how to get the dang gaskets to stay put so i can bolt down the covers. seems like a little rtv would help hold them in place???????? thanks

Try a little gasket glue. Easy to find and will hold them in place. RTV especially the blue shouldn't hurt anything just don't glob it on. Also try putting the bolts in then put the gasket over the bolts and install.
