Painted my headliner black yesterday and added a couple red accents, here's the pics from the day...

I took the entire headliner out and painted it in my backyard...

I figured out how to remove the sunroof and remove the slider but I wasn't able to do it, so I said screw it and just painted it inside the car, the paint doesn't have much overspray at all so I didn't get any on me or any of the interior 8)

Hey Lance, looks good, how in your door panels, is the armrest smooth? Is there a way you just rip the carpet junk out?? And how did you get the headlinre out of the car? my trunk is full of sound so I can't getit out that way, did you bring it out a door? Thanks man, your car is looking good, does anyone know how to put your rear 6 X 9's over the fabric nicely, so its a really nice clean look, not like a hole with the speaker showing, i mean the speaker pinches the backliner down with no gap between it and the speaker, thanks.

Only the passenger side carpet panel is out because I sanded the door down to paint it. That's what it looks like under the carpet. The headliner is pretty self explanatory, remove the sunvisors, remove the big tack/pin things around the headliner, loosen the A pillars or remove them, and loosen the back seat side panels or you might have to take them out. You gotta unplug the dome light and if you have a sunroof you have to unplug the switch. I just manuevered it out the door with the seats all the way down. As for the 6x9's, you'd have to raise the speakers somehow, shouldn't be hard just get longer screws and mount some kinda ring around that raises them, and I'm sure someone sells covers to go around the speakers and that screw down.

Yea, i need to start updating my interrior. Since i haven't been able to find a paint to match the stock charcoal grey... :(

Giving up modding the Cav. That's my decision for now. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied enough with a cavalier so rather then dish out a bunch of money like I did the last one, I'm just gonna stop while I'm ahead. Even if I do everything I want to it, it'll still just be a 10 year old Cavalier with over 100k miles. Hopefully I'll sell what parts I have, return the interior to stock and just drive the car lowered with rims. I might be getting a new job, getting close to $15/hour which is better then the $10.40 I make now. Current job wouldn't be so bad if they gave me more hours but they don't nor do they give benefits for "per diems." So HOPEFULLY I'll get the new job and I'll finish paying off the cav, make some dents in my credit cards and I'll be able to make payments on a newer car. Something newer then 2000 with less then 50k miles would be ideal.

I'm gonna try and sell the stuff locally first. I hate shipping things, too lazy and it makes me lose money.

Ill pay shipping of course, :P I want the pod gauges and wheel with hub, what would you charge for all of that? and if you threw it in one box, probably around $20 shipping.

I know you'd pay but say I wanted $50 for it, and you were willing to pay $50 total. Then with the shipping price added, you don't wanna pay that much.

paint it properly this time, not just paint lol, primer, paint and clearcoat, and try to use vinyl and fabric paint.

How did you get the trim surrounding the instrument panel, radio, and climate controls off to paint it? or did you just do a really really good newspaper taping job?

I redid it....its proper now....stump my halos bounce....i tighten them down and at night people are saying my lights bounce like crazy they are tightened all the way and still have play.....help please!

mine bounced too so i just took some rubber squares that i cut out of a bungie strap and placed them inbetween the adjustment points of the housing and the black frame to keep them from moving back and forth. lmk if this makes sense cuz its kinda hard to explain

Yea i know what you mean, but where at, i dont know where the adjustment points are between the housing and mounting frame

lance that hurts buddy, and thanks my little ohioian buddy for sticking up for me, lol. I almost did my interior red and black but that was way to cliche...oh wait...nevermind then.

oh mine did too, it's the actual light assembly. like the piece of metal that holds your light in is like floating.... so it's going to do that. It sucks.... see if your brights flicker. 10 to 1 says they don't cuz they're just twist in :)

um.. rip out your lights and throw them on the ground :D

you need to take out the light harness thing, and make your own.... :) or just tape it to the housing :)
