Need an engine

I am looking for an engine for a 99 f250 powerstroke. I have looked at the Jasper motors and they appear to be upwards of $8000. That is more that I would like to spend so some alternatives would be good. The existing motor has been rebuilt/resleeved once already, it has just under 300k mi on it, so I suspect that another rebuild is not in order. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

is there anything actually wrong with the engine?

if there's nothing wrong with it, there's no need to replace it. besides, diesels are built to last a long time (my friend swapped the engine out of his hilux when it had done 920,000 miles, and there was nothing wrong with it then.) rebuilds are just part of owning a diesel. you're better off just having it rebuilt and overhauled rather than replacing it. a rebuild won't cost you $8,000. a new engine will.

Go with the Jasper, they update the 7.3 powerstroke with updated parts and they have the best warranty out there.Jasper puts in high quality parts from Clevite,Fel Pro and and other high quality parts manufaturers,Jasper puts in new parts and the old parts are thrown away.Sometimes a reman is cheaper than rebuilding an engine
