Building this 73.5 for my friend. It is going to be mica blue with white stripes. Going to make some custom decals for the back window. This car went through alot of troube. Originally it was hand painted like 4 years ago and looked like crap. Got a nice long soak in 91% isopropyl alcohol and some good sanding to get as much paint off that I could. Door handles have also been shaved as a result of the sanding. Now it's back to the beginning to give it a much better life and look.

Got the gray primer and white primer down today. Body needs to dry off and then I can start on the white color. Using Detail Master sanding cloths for the first time and they are freaking nice. Well worth the money.

First wet coat of white. Color corrected in PS so the color is probably either a little blue or yellow in the pics depending on if I didn't cool it enough or not.

Wired the engine for the first time. Good thing I had the engine detailing book, so I know the firing order is right. I'm not too sure about where the plugs were, so I guessed. Used some pictures from a car show I went to of some other Chevy engines.

It's actually an AMT kit. I threw the box away, but it has a green Camaro on it. It's been OOP for a while now. I was lucky enough to have it sitting around so I didn't have to go and try to find it.

I also have this kit and it is a 1970 1/2 Camaro.

Looks good so far but I think the black lining looks a bit heavy. I glued on the front and rear valances before painting on my build to avoid any risk of damage with glue and to make sure the panel fit was correct. Doing it this way allowed me to make adjustments by sanding, filling if required etc. Might be worth considering next time.

It's still sitting on my work desk staring at me to finish it. I have the stripe masking laid down, but I don't have the paint I need at my apartment and the weather hasn't been paint worthy. There might be some interior advancements since I last posted, but I would have to go back and check it out, probably just some basic painting of the chassis and suspension.

Got the body painted. I'm waiting to hear from my sister on if she likes the paint or not. If not it's going to be stripped and repainted...again.

thta color is awesome - great job on the paint and decals! Great job on the wiring too. Your skills are coming along nicely!

Thanks. I actually didn't decal anything. I just laid some tamiya masking tape down to make the stripes. I realized after laying the first mist coat of paint down that I was supposed to put down some clear coat first. I was like "Crap!...oh well, let's roll with it and hope it turns out fine." Luckily it turned out decent.
